(19-02-16) The Cat’s Out of the Bag

Well, I made it to yesterday, but everyone now knows about Botas. Between the daily cleaning lady; half a dozen nurses coming in all day and night to do drip bags, enemas, cabbage therapy, ozone treatment, vitals, and med deliveries; doctor drop-ins; and Dr. Rubio, Sr.’s habit of never knocking before coming in, hiding that kitten was just becoming impossible.

And guess what? They’re letting me keep him in my room while I am here. I was all prepared with fact sheets about the benefits of pet therapy in hospital settings, but I didn’t even need to argue my case. How cool is that??

I was diagnosed with Stage 3C Invasive Breast Cancer in October/November, 2015. This blog is my way to process my experience and allow my loved ones to have ongoing updates about my journey.

  1. That is so frickin hysterical I never had any doubt that you wouldn’t have won if You did need to argue the case lol. Well I think that’s wonderful so how many fur- kitty babies will this make? I think maybe 7 plus Wishbone. I would have loved to see Doc’s face when you told him the story of the 🐱. Hahaha. Glad you have company this wk. end I only wish you wouldn’t get so sick. I heard that Lissa is coming to visit with you I really happy about that. I can only hope that this will bring you cuz’s closer together.

  2. @lindaausburn – I’m not keeping Botas. I’m nursing him back to health, and then one of the night nurses will be taking him home. I am, however, using my 🐈 Whisperer skills to groom this cat into an awesome companion; i’ve got her playing and cuddling on the regular already. Hannah is going to love this new addition to her home, and so is her 9-year-old daughter.
